Sunday School

is designed to teach children that church is a place where they are both loved and accepted.  The Bible is used continuously by the teachers while the children are engaged in developmentally appropriate activities.  The children are grouped in rooms according to their age and/or development.

Sunday Worship

follows immediately after Sunday School and is during morning worship. In this session, preschoolers continue to learn from Bible lessons they were introduced to in Sunday school.

Preschool Choirs

help three to five year olds learn more about music, praise, and worship so they can learn to love God.  Your preschooler will enjoy the fun of singing and playing musical instruments. Preschool Choirs meet on Wednesday nights at 6:00.

Mission Friends

follows immediately after preschool choir and teaches our preschoolers about Missions around the world.  By learning about the Great Commission, our preschoolers are able to serve the world.

Special Needs

has been a ministry of HBC since 2007.  We have qualified respite workers who minister on Sunday mornings to children with many different disabilities. Please contact the church office for more information.

Protecting Your Child

We at Highlawn promise:

  • To treat each child with love and respect
  • That all children's workers have been trained to work with children and have had an extensive background check.
  • To create an environment so that your child can learn from God’s word and be comfortable.
  • For safety reasons, we cannot administer any medication to your child.

We ask you:

  • To alert our preschool workers of any special needs your child has
  • To notify us of any allergies your child has (we have snacks every week).
  • To have other childcare arrangements if your child has had a fever or has vomited in the past 24 hours, had an illness contagious to other children, or has lice.
  • To retrieve your child from the nursery if the preschool director notifies you that your child is not feeling well.
